Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010
WINEMAKERS NOTE Typical Sauvignon Blanc aromas of gooseberry, guava and passionfruit. Full bodied rich palate with gooseberry flavours and lingering citrus aftertaste. Refreshing and vibrant with excellent acid balance. VINTAGE SUMMARY Summer was cooler than most years which meant some vineyards took longer to start ripening than others. This resulted in a broad spectrum of quality fruit coming in from all over the region. Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir both performed well & early indications are showing wines with lovely flavours and intensity. The Pinot Gris is simply outstanding! The results of this vintage will be well worth waiting for. FERNRIDGE Sauvignon Blanc 2010 Fruit-forward and nicely lifted on the nose, this appealing Sauvignon displays ripe passionfruit, lime zest and herbaceous chatacters. The palate is lively and juicy with good fruit weight and bright acidity. A refreshing and immediately attractive wine that will please Sauvignon fans. At its best: now to 2012. Sam Kim - Wine Orbit, June 2011 VINIFICATION Low temperatures and aromatic yeasts were used to capture the intense varietal characters of this wine.
